Celtic Nation Kernow at Awenek 2025

Celtic Nation Kernow was again pleased to be attending the fantastic Cornwall Heritage Trust Awenek Festival at Enys Gardens, near Penryn. What a great venue and well worth visiting.

Celtic Nation Kernow had a splendid day with a chance to meet up with some of the fantastic groups who work so hard for Cornish heritage. We wanted to share our vision and goals of promoting Cornish heritage and also encouraging people from Celtic nations to share their own historic and cultural heritage with Kernow and the other Celtic countries. Our aim was to let people know what our goals are and what we are working on at the moment.

We wanted to sign up new members and encourage younger people to engage with Cornish and Celtic heritage. We were very successful with 27 new members joining Celtic Nation Kernow. It’s great when people from across all the Celtic nations signup via our FREE online membership webpage, but it’s also really good to meet people and share our enthusiasm for our rebranded and revitalised group. We would love members to contribute something to Celtic Nation Kernow such as articles for the website, newsletter or videos relating to Cornish and wider Celtic themes. Contact us at celticnationkernow@gmail.com.

During the day we were supporting in spirit the many young people, as part of the Mebyon Kernow youth wing Kernow Rydh (Free Cornwall) who were holding a demonstration in Truro in favour of devolution and greater autonomy for Cornwall. We have a growing Celtic Nation and Devolution page on this website.
